Loading kernel is very slow

Problem:
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The boot-loader (Das U-Boot) at boot time loads the kernel image from the internal NVM (specifically `eMMC`) with extremely
long loading times, seemingly hanging the system.

This problem is also explained in this NXP community thread `here`_\ .


Cause:
~~~~~~~~~~

This problem occurs when the ``/boot`` partition, which the kernel is loaded from, is formatted as ``ext4`` filesystem.


Workaround:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Reformat ``/boot`` partition as ``FAT32`` filesystem.
