Cortex®-M33 coprocessor development for Renesas processors¶
Beside the Cortex®-A55 processor core, the RZ/G2L application processors series from Renesas, provide a highly efficient low power Cortex®-M33 core. This general purpose core for low power processing may increase the battery lifetime, which is an important benefit for many mobile embedded devices. The processor is based on the Armv8-M architecture. For details on the functions of the Cortex®-M33 core, see the Arm® Cortex®-M33 Processor Technical Reference Manual.
Renesas provides the Flexible Software Package (FSP) to develop on the Arm® Cortex®-M33 side. The FSP brings open source drivers, middleware, reference example applications and documentation to speed up your software development.
Renesas provides also the Multi-OS Package. This software package provides user with easy way to establish multi-OS (i.e., Linux running on Cortex®-A55 core and FreeRTOS running on Cortex®-M33 core) environment and sample program showing how to implement Inter-Processor Communication between those CPU cores.
